Somatic Therapy

Somatic Therapy is a body‑centered approach that recognizes how emotions, stress, and trauma live not only in the mind but also in physical sensations, posture, breath, and the nervous system. Instead of focusing solely on thoughts or memories, it gently guides you to notice what’s happening in your body—tension, warmth, tightness, movement—and supports the release of patterns that may have been held for years. This helps restore a sense of safety, presence, and connection within yourself.

When integrated with EMDR and other holistic modalities, Somatic Therapy adds a grounding, embodied layer that deepens the healing process. It helps you stay regulated during EMDR processing, increases your capacity to move through difficult material, and supports the nervous system in completing stress responses that may have been interrupted in the past. Combined with practices like mindfulness, art therapy, or energy work, somatic awareness creates a fuller, more balanced path to healing—one that honors the whole person and allows emotional, physical, and energetic shifts to unfold in harmony.
