A little about me
I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, in a family where creativity was part of everyday life. Many of my family members were artistically inclined, and from an early age I was immersed in making, observing, and expressing. In elementary school, I received my first camera—a clear plastic 110mm point-and-shoot with neon-colored gears visible inside. I was instantly captivated. Even then, I felt drawn to capturing moments, telling stories through images, and seeing the world from my own perspective. Without realizing it at the time, I was discovering self-expression as a way of understanding both myself and others.

That early connection to art led me to study studio art and photography at the University at Buffalo, where I graduated in 2004. After college, I worked for several years at a local art museum—one of the oldest art institutions in the United States. While surrounded by incredible work, what impacted me most were the stories behind the art. Again and again, I witnessed how artists used creativity to express pain, love, anger, resilience, and reflections of the times they were living in. This deepened my understanding of art as not just aesthetic, but profoundly human and healing.
Following a year of service with AmeriCorps, I felt called to merge creativity with direct care and went on to study Creative Arts Therapy at Nazareth College of Rochester. I later earned my New York State license as a Creative Arts Therapist. My clinical work has included substance abuse and mental health counseling in outpatient settings, as well as nearly nine years working in acute psychiatric hospitalization. During my time in the hospital as an Art Therapist, I witnessed firsthand the power of creative expression to reach people in moments when words alone were not enough.
While working in the hospital, I became increasingly aware of a gap in accessible Art Therapy services within the local community. In response, I initiated my private practice in 2017, beginning with a weekly Art Therapy support group for adults experiencing anxiety and depression. This marked an important turning point—one where I began bringing my values, creativity, and clinical experience together in a more intentional way.

In 2020, I gave birth to my son at the same time the world slowed and shifted with the pandemic. This period of profound change clarified what I knew deep down: it was time to fully transition into private practice. I devoted myself to building a practice that integrated the holistic, nervous-system-informed, and creative approaches I had cultivated over years of hospital work into a cohesive and deeply aligned model of care.

Today, I feel deeply fulfilled offering therapy that reflects who I am at my core—creative, grounded, compassionate, and holistic. My work is rooted in honoring each person’s story and supporting healing in a way that feels authentic, integrative, and sustainable. I am grateful to serve individuals who resonate with this approach and to walk alongside them as they reconnect with themselves, their inner wisdom, and their capacity for growth.
